It's not a bug, it's a feature

In setting up for my presentation yesterday my 2 month old laptop decided that it no longer wanted to support any display other than 800x600 and as a result the on-screen display would no longer change orientation to match the swivel of the LCD screen. Turns out that my laptop is smart enough to notice that when it's hooked up to a projector that will only support 800x600 it will adjust itself to match. The moment I disconnected the projector everything went back to normal. Of course, this is after I did a system restore to undo some recent installs that I though might be causing the problem. Nice of the system to tell me what it's doing.
