A lightbulb turns on

While waiting for Dan Simmons I was starting to read his new book. On page 33 I got an idea for a series of short stories, possibly long enough to be a book. And this isn't just an idea, it's an IDEA. I've already got a basic overview written. (Writing that much on my PocketPC is a bitch! Maybe next time I'll try the recording feature.)
